Description

A new service called Improving the Cancer Journey will be launched in West Dunbartonshire in 2019.

Macmillan Cancer Support and West Dunbartonshire Council are working with a range of partners across the local authority area to ensure people affected by cancer can access all the help they need.

When the new service launches, newly diagnosed adults in West Dunbartonshire will be sent a letter offering them the opportunity to meet with a dedicated one-to-one link worker. The link worker could help the person access a wide range of support, from benefits advice and emotional support, to help at home or with other practical needs.

Macmillan Cancer Support and West Dunbartonshire Council are committed to ensuring that the voices of people affected by cancer are heard and that they play an important role in the shaping of this new service. Your views will help us to understand people's experiences and what the priorities for improvement should be.

We will be running an engagement event at Clydebank Leisure Centre on the 5th November between 1pm and 4pm. At the event we’ll outline the aims and aspirations of the new project and there will be opportunities for you to let us know what you think would make the service better. Lunch will be provided. If you would like to attend the event, please make sure you sign up using the "Register" link on the right hand side.
